Seriously, why are things this way?

When Steffi Graf dominated the tennis world tennis lovers did not enjoy it. When the Williams sisters had been squashing anyone on her path to the championship, fans did not enjoy it. And currently when titles are up for grabs? Supporters do not appreciate this.

The majority admit that the Williams duo tower over the competition the majority of the time. Although injuries and diminished non-Slam tournament schedules spell they currently play against one another before the title match. Although again allow us to bear in mind that just a year or 2 ago the above-mentioned gripes about this frequent battle in the championship and their governance over the rest of the athletes.

So now we have Dinara Safina holding the top place in the ranks and the US Open seeds. And what do they indicate? She hasn’t earned it because she hasn’t yet won a Grand Slam (also she’s gone down in a couple grand slam title recently.) And then there was Venus Williams last night–also pushed to three pairs. Furthermore amusing. (Furthermore note that Venus did not have the most successful of summers post Wimbledon.) Although probably to be heard is the prevalence of injuries among the sisters Williams and their “distractions” off the courts.

Moreover presently Kim Clijsters is back and as opposed to being extremely enthralled - which someone should be since she’s fun and kind and a first-class competitor - the media are all like “well what does this tell about the girls game that she might come beyond retirement and have a six and two finish for the summer year?”

Well I believe it reveals that she - as she consistently has -maintains her physical state extraordinarily well. Also that she’s an experienced pro athlete and she has just about zero to lose.

So let’s simply finish all the trash talking, please. Yes, there are imperfections in the women’s game. (Like the absence of selection in terms of playing technique.) However I personally love that it’s any person’s guess as to who will be in the finals in under two weeks. And I anticipate seeing how they end up there.
